Forever Still - Tied Down - Album Review

Review by Jacob Chazot
Edited by Tom Coombs

First I would like to say that the début album by Euro rock band ‘Forever Still’, ‘Tied Down’ is an absolute must for fans of Linkin Park, Evanescence and In This Moment. This band and album has shown a variety of immense breakdowns, soft lullaby verses and electrifying guitar solos. The vocalist’s powerful voice, invites you to be part of the great, dark, Forever Still celebration.

From listening to the first few songs I could tell that everyone in the band is extraordinarily talented, with Mikkel Haastrap on Bass, Dennis Post on Guitar and especially the vocalist Maja Shining. There is a variety to the songs on the album such as Save Me, a slightly more easy listening song compared to tracks like Scars, a brutal, in-your-face but still atmospheric track.

The album is made up of two EP’s released earlier in 2015 which you check out the reviews here and here.  They have added the final part of the story to create this narrative and bring it to an end until the next instalment.  It is a full on concept album taking you through a journey of depression from  the beginning to the recovery at the end.

Overall this was a great album to listen to and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is a fan of alternative music, whether you are into death-core and gnarly breakdowns, punk or even just classic rock, this is the album for you.

Tied Down the début album by 'Forever Still' is out on January the 15th, if you have joined their mailing list you can pre-order a physical copy, for everyone else you can pre-order right here and will be available once released from most online stores.  You can also check out one of the tracks below with a great video.

5 Stars - An Alternative rock album for everyone, no matter your taste, 100% recommended.
