Breeze – Same Wave – Single Review

Review by Tom Coombs

Aron Gilbey (Lead Vocals/Guitar) Dom Hepworth (Guitar/Backing Vocals)  Adam Frost (Bass) and  Joe Gray (Drums/Backing Vocals) make up Hull based grunge band ‘Breeze’ and their new single ‘Same Wave’ came out on the 3rd of August on Warren Records and it is guitar laden English music at its most pure.

It is a very indie pop style track for a supposed grunge band, but everyone knows I hate genres so I don’t care what the band as a whole come under.  This brings me back to the early 2000’s and late nineties that this style of music was on its high.  And I very happy to hear a band are still making such great music.

Classic indie guitar riffs and chords are all over the place and even the vocals are a very indie standard especially with that Hull accent coming through.  There is a lead hook and is full with everything that this style of music needs to make it a huge hit.

Everyone needs to stand up and take note and keep an eye on this band, after a very successful 2014 by supporting Skaters and Catfish and The Bottlemen this is definitely the band upping their already established game.
4 Stars – Staying with classic indie rhythms, this is blast from the past with everyone loved about the music.
