We Came As Stranger - Still Life - Single Review

Review by Tom Coombs

‘We Came As Strangers’ is the latest release from the four magically talented musicians, Justin Sandercoe, Owen Thomas, Tim Harries and Ellem.  It is a dark and mysterious track with everything that any song needs.
This is my first listen to the band and I was very happy that I have, from the start I got visions of creepy Victorian London with the spooky piano intro.  Then you are put at ease by some very pop style vocals brought in with a simple beat and some electro style bass.  The song really comes into its own in the chorus as Ellem’s vocals really push out with some amazing power, which you can tell some has been held back.  The vocals are clear and sounds really amazing.

This comes more into the pop side of the style of music that ‘We Came As Strangers’ makes listed as Avant-garde, pop, folk and rock.

This is one amazing song and I can’t wait to see where the band can grow from here.  Check out the video for the track or just give it a listen below, you won’t be disappointed.

4 Stars - Top marks, for a top band, with top talent.
